Doctor: The Dream job for saving lives

When I was younger, my parents always told me who I wanted to be if I was a superhero. Some kids will say they want to be like Batman, Superman, or Wonder Woman. But for me, I want to be a superhero who doesn’t have a cape or have a group. I wanted to be a hero who has a stethoscope around her neck. A hero who can lend a helping hand when you are sick and injured. And this only refers to becoming a Doctor.

Growing up, I witnessed a generation of growth and pains, most significantly in the shortage of human medical resources. I caught a sight of humanity struggling to fight back against the unseen health threat that is too complex and difficult for a young person to digest. Consequently, I look forward to becoming someone who will always lend a helping hand to those who are in grief and be the light of kindness to the less fortunate. As time passed, I became the main character in the greatest life adventure I only once imagined: an odyssey against the world’s fatal illnesses. I am Jamaica De Guzman Estorninos, and my dream job is to become one of the rising Doctors in the Philippines.
